Toronto's own Grupo Xtasis new single "El Secreto" Sunday March 29, 2009 9:00am EST Toronto-based Bachata band, Xtasis, is a group of multi-talented young Latin musicians composed of various backgrounds.  Xtasis incorporates Dominican-derived Bachata and Merengue along with Colombian-born Cumbia to create their unique repertoire.  Drawing from the Ecuadorian, Colombian, and Dominican roots of the 10 members, the band has managed to create their own sound for their Bachatas by using an electric guitar as the lead and Colombian essence to inject flavour into their Cumbias.  Xtasis is comprised of the following members Dayana Bonifaz (Lead Vocals), Featuring Alex Naar (Vocals), Steve Sanchez (Lead Guitar / Timbales), Diego Bravo (Bass), Jorge Vargas (Guitar), Gueris Caba (guira / Drum Machine), Ruben "Beny" Esguerra (Percussion), Klaus Anslem (Trumpet) and Catalina Machulec (Trumpet). The fusion of these vibrant elements has lead to the creation of a fresh, yet classic sound that differentiates Xtasis from their contemporaries. In November 2005, Xtasis was nominated at the 1st Annual Latin Industry Awards in Toronto for “Best Group”. Now after a 4 year wait Xtasis has released their much anticipated single "El Secreto", a bachata song that is being compared to singles from popular duo Monchy Y Alejandra.
