Spain Wins World Cup Toronto Celebrates

Spain World ChampionsIt was certainly a very exciting contest as the FIFA World Cup 2010 ended with Spain winning against Netherlands in extra time. The final score was 1:0 for Spain over Netherlands. Spain won its first FIFA World Cup and brought a country together by victory.

Spain scored the final and winning goal at 116 minutes, well into extra time. The hero Andres Iniesta emerged from this world cup as one of the best players in the world and scorer of the latest-ever FIFA 2010 World Cup winning goal. The Barcelona midfielder said that, he didn’t do anything special for the victory goal.

As the final whistle blew and Spain was crowned World Champions many Torontonians joined in the celebration and started there own festival in downtown Toronto Bathurst and College.

“There is no sleeping tonight,” one teenaged boy yelled.

At least a thousand revelers of all ages and nationalities celebrated into the night, as the sound of cheers, car horns and the now-infamous vuvuzelas filled the air.
