Don Omar and Jackie Guerrido
are now officially husband
and wife.
The
Puerto Rican newlyweds tied
the knot April 19 at the
Ritz Carlton Hotel in Isla
Verde, Puerto Rico. And
as was expected, the lovebirds
spared no expense to have
the fairytale wedding they’d
been dreaming about.
According to Puerto Rican
newspaper Ultima hora, the
festivities began around
6:50 p.m., when 30-year-old
William Landron – dressed
in a black suit, white shirt
and tie, and his braidless
hair pulled back – took
his place at the altar on
the terrace of the hotel
ballroom, where he waited
for 10 minutes for his bride
to appear. Around 7:00 p.m.,
Guerrido, 35, arrived in
a gorgeous Luis Antonio
strapless gown adorned with
French lace and pearls,
and carrying lilac-colored
orchids. The bride’s son,
18-year-old Tomas Ramirez,
gave the bride away. Landron
and Guerrido kissed and
hugged when they met each
other at the altar.
The ceremony lasted only
10 minutes, and was presided
over by Reverend Bobby Cruz,
who, upon declaring them
husband and wife, said,
“Now you can kiss each other.
This is the one that counts,”
which sparked laughter and
applause among the attendants.
The event was sponsored
by the reggaeton star’s
brother Luis Landron, and
Univision weather presenter’s
sister Maria Guerrido. Guerrido’s
daughter, 17-year-old Adieny
Nunez was the maid of honor,
while the groom’s sons,
6-year-old Daniel and 2-year-old
Dereck, stood by their father
on the important occasion.
The menu featured a variety
of appetizers, followed
by main courses, including
steak, lobster and truffle
risotto. The 14-piece violin
group Violines de San Juan
added ambience to the dinner
with beautiful music.
Among the guests at the
wedding were reggaeton singers
Ivy Queen, Eliel, Tito “El
Bambino, Tego Calderon,
RKM y Ken Y, actress Adriana
Fonseca, fashion guru Rodner
Figueroa, TV personalities
Don Francisco, Raul de Molina,
Ana Maria Canseco, Tony
Dandrades, Neida Sandoval,
Giselle Blondet, Barbara
Bermudo, Rafael Jose, Fernando
del Rincon and his wife,
Carmen Dominicci.
For
the sake of security, all
of the guests had to pass
through an X-ray scanner
to assure that no one tried
to bring pens, cameras or
cell phones into the A-list
event.
Don Francisco gave a spirited
champagne toast at the reception
that lasted until 5:00 a.m.
(the newlyweds slipped out
around 4 a.m.). Gilberto
Santa Rosa and merengue
group Karis livened up the
bash with music that got
guests on their feet.
According to newspaper El
Nuevo Dia, at noon on Sunday,
the newlyweds had a brunch
for guests, who were all
dressed in white, on the
hotel terrace. Even though
Guerrido and Don Omar were
supposed to head off to
Dubai for their honeymoon,
they had to postpone that
trip because of professional
obligations, and instead
spent a few days on a Caribbean
island. *
