Renacer by DLG (Dark Latin Groove) Friday August 29, 2008 4:00pm EST DLG (Dark Latin Groove) Is an innovative Salsa band that mixes salsa, reggae, reggaeton, and hip-hop. The group was brought together in New York by producer Sergio George (who also signed them to his record company Sir George Records) and included Huey Dunbar, Fragancia, and James "Da Barba" de Jesus. Their hits included "La quiero a morir", "Juliana", "No morira", "Volvere", "Todo mi corazon", and Ricardo Montaner's "Me va a extranar". After their third album in 2000, lead singer Huey Dunbar decided to break away from DLG to pursue a solo career. This essentially led to the breakup of the entire group, shocking and disappointing many fans over Latin America. In 2007, DLG producer Sergio George announced that the group would resurface again. George asked Huey Dunbar to come back to the group, in which he refused to return. Sergio began searching for a new vocalist. Sergio's search for a new vocalist led him to "Miss YaYa". Miss YaYa, whose real name is Yahaira Vargas, participated in an American-Idol- like contest called 'Gigantes del Manana' on the variety show Sabado Gigante. In addition, YaYa was on the first season of Sean P. Diddy Combs show Making the Band 3 in 2005 on MTV. Miss YaYa's manager contacted Sergio in which he reviewed her work and photos via myspace.com. They set up an interview in Florida along with her manager, Sergio, and James "Da Barba". The new group now consists of Miss YaYa, James "Da Barba" and will feature Fragancia along with an invited guest singer Ness and Rapper/Singer/DJ, DJ Napoles(Napo). DLG released a new hit via radio in February 2008 called "Quiero Decirte Que Te Amo" which is a remake of Italian ballad of Laura Pausini, and also a Peruvian folk song cover called "Toro Mata" (The Bull Kills). Also included is the remake of the ballad that was now done Salsa style of Pero Acuerdo de ti, which was done by Christina Aguilera and was featured on her album "Mi Reflejo", which was written by songwriter Rudy Perez. Sergio George had also included on the album of live performances of Miss Ya Ya and group doing the hit songs, "No Morira", "Volvere", "Muevete" and "Juliana".
