PLEASE HELP!!! THE VICTIMS OF HURRICANE IKE IN CUBA Monday October 06, 2008 9:00am EST An open letter to anyone interested in helping Cuba in its time of crisis from Hurricane IKE. The Orion Foundation and Recycle your Bicycle are Ontario-based charities sending aid to Cuba. Since 2004, twelve 40-foot containers have been sent, three of those in 2008. We are currently most interested in clothing, shoes, bed linens and children’s toys, to replace just about everything lost in most of Cuba. There is also a great need for money to aid in shipping these containers. ALL DONORS OF $50 AND MORE RECEIVE A CHARITABLE RECEIPT FOR TAX PURPOSES. Sponsors may also elect to cover the complete cost of individual containers, in which case we will adorn the container with appropriate signage in favour of the donor, when it is being loaded, so that any news coverage will be beneficial to the sponsor(s).
